Pro/E Creo Wildfile EFX Expert Framework ExtensionStep 4. Selecting Structural Profile Types in AFX!

  • (Top Menu) EFX 7.0> profiles> the profile dialog box will appear, under the assemble tab choose the ‘select profile from library’ tool> select the Steel Beams MM file> select the I-Beam, the element definition dialog box will appear> select Australian UB, this will then bring up the list of sizes> select the 460UB82.1> the profile dialog box will appear as shown in fig. 4 (right)
  • Select the ‘assemble new profile instance’ icon under instance type> select the ‘assemble profile on a straight curve or edge’ under the reference method> select the ‘assemble profile at centre’ under the position option.
  • Select the ‘asm_front’ datum plane (profiles need to run parallel to the selected plane) > select the first vertical line on the left, the profile will then be generated as shown in below fig.5 below:

  • Choose the ‘select standard and size for the profile’ tool> select the 200UB18.2 beam> the instance type, reference method, position and datum reference plane are as 4.1> select the assemble profile rotated by +90 degrees’ under the rotation option.
  • Select the second vertical line on the left, the profile will be generated> repeat for the next vertical line.
  • Choose the ‘select standard and size for the profile’ tool> select the 460UB82.1 beam> select the ‘assemble new profile instance’ tool under the instance type option> select the ‘assemble profile without rotation’ under the rotation option> select the right roof line, the profile will be generated> repeat for the left roof line. See fig.6 below:
